Moving to Northern Cyprus: your first 30 days
Build your new routine step by step around housing, connections, transport and paperwork. These day ranges are a suggested organisation plan, not visa, residence, work or contract deadlines. Check your lawful stay on day one and start any required official procedure promptly.
Days 1–3: confirm your address and documents
Begin with dependable accommodation and a way to stay reachable. Buying a home does not itself grant residence or employment rights. Verify the separate procedures for your nationality and purpose of stay.
Days 4–7: organise electricity, water and internet
Account ownership, previous debts and installation times affect your moving budget. Internet in a building does not prove the same service or speed is available in your own apartment.
Days 8–14: transport, healthcare and daily routines
Try shopping, transport and healthcare access along the routes you will actually use. Convenience depends on real travel time, as well as distance on a map.
Days 15–21: review your budget and contracts
Separate initial expenses from recurring monthly costs. Bank, school and other application documents depend on the institution and your circumstances; do not rely on a universal list.
Days 22–30: close gaps and prepare next month
Review your documents and routines at the end of the month. Do not postpone required official procedures until this week; use it to follow up work already started.
Progress is stored only in this browser. Checking an item does not confirm official approval of a procedure.
Is this 30-day plan an official application deadline?
No. It is a suggested organisational timetable. Your entry permission, application category and official rules determine your personal deadlines; check them on day one.
Does buying property give me residence and work rights?
Purchase, residence and work permissions are separate procedures. Ownership does not automatically provide each right; discuss your circumstances with the relevant official unit and independent lawyer.
Should I rent my permanent home before arriving?
If possible, use temporary accommodation to assess the area and home in person. For a remote rental, verify the property, authority, written terms and payment recipient rather than relying on photographs alone.
